Letter to the Editor: Truth change its name?

To the Editor:
Did the truth change its name? I see it or hear of it in so many places where they call it by Critical Race Theory. And now they have proposing -- in Missouri-- something called the Parents’ Bill of Rights wherein parents could choose it their children are to be taught American History as it actually unfolded or if they should leave parts out which may paint the white man in a less-than-honorable persona. They are trying to make us (our country) into something like China, North Korea, or Russia. “You believe what the State tells you to believe”. We cannot go down that road.

I am a seventy-two-year-old white man, from a predominantly white county, who has and still do cherish the friendships that I have had and still do have with people of races other than my own. Just so you know where I’m coming from. Honorable people do not paint the world as they would like others to see it. The world, and its history is what it is -- or was. Those who would hide the truth from our children and grandchildren or would serve to propagate such an effort do not deserve our respect or our vote. This racist behavior should not be condoned by honorable people.
