Perry County is changing. Libertarianism is on the rise in our community and state. If you do not pay attention, you will not see it happening. There are several libertarians running for positions in our current upcoming elections. You won’t see them listed as libertarians on the ballot. They are running under the Republican ticket. There is only one reason for this. They cannot get elected if they run under the Libertarian ticket.
Most people have a hard time figuring out the difference between a Republican and a Democrat. They are the two main parties. It’s very very difficult to get elected if you are not running under one of those two parties. So most Libertarians decide to run under the Republican party. Libertarians and Republicans are similar in a few ways, but different in many ways.
Libertarians want less tax and less laws. That sounds really good for most people. Libertarians, like to follow the motto, Mind your own business. But let’s just think about that. How would it be if we didn’t pay taxes and didn’t have laws? Taxes take care of a lot of our expenses. We don’t have to worry about who is going to pay for repairing the road when we get a pothole. Who’s gonna pay to educate my child? What would happen to all of our national and state parks? Let’s face it, we cannot live without taxes. There needs to be some changes made but still we have to have tax revenue to take care of our needs. And what about laws? Laws are made for a reason. Things have happened in the past, therefore we learn from our mistakes, and we try to make a law to prevent that from happening again. We just can’t let criminals walk around and take over our communities. After all, we are a civilized country for the most part. We work hard to be able to take care of our families to have our own little piece of this county to call our own. We just can’t let someone take it from us. That’s the American way. That what our forefathers dream was for us. That’s why we get to vote and majority rules. None of us will get our way all the time. But the system our forefathers put in place does work.
Libertarians believe that it’s OK to do whatever you want with your body as long as the people involved consent and it doesn’t hurt anyone. Libertarians want you to MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!
The Libertarian party supports the decriminalization of prostitution. They believe consenting adults have the right to provide sexual services for compensation and the right of clients to purchase sexual services from consenting sex workers. We have laws against that.
