Letter to the Editor: Honoring veterans

Posted

Dear Editor,
Thank you to all of the Volunteers in our community!
Recently I was fortunate enough to emcee an event!
Liberty Days : A Salute to Service!
Honoring our Men and Women in uniform, Military,  Law  Enforcement and First Responders..... presented and  hosted by the The Duly Elected Republican Central Committee of Perry County at our American Legion post 133.

All politics aside, it was a heartwarming evening , we had four Republican platform speakers that served in the Military themselves, a Marine, Air Force and two Navy Veterans all who spoke about their time in our nations Military and addressed and thanked those of the nearly 200 guests that attended the festivities that evening.
We honored a 48 Star Marine Veterans American flag with a very stirring rendition of our National Anthem performed by Perry Countys very own Rachel Deckard!
Once again,  we challenged our community to stay vigilant, stay strong, stay engaged and we were reminded once and for all that all of us have strong work to continue to do and as long as our heart beats and we breathe God’s air then our mission for Freedom in today’s fragile world will never fail to  cease !
With All Respect,
Keith A Carroll
Perry County Republican Central Committee President.
