Janet L. Cornelius, 65, of Perryville died Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Independence Care Center.
She was born May 13, 1958 in Hayti, MO to Ale and Betty (Croy) Cato.
Janet and Lee Cornelius were married on November 4, 1978. He survives her in Perryville.
She was Secretary at Dumey Contracting in Benton, Ill.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.
Survivors include daughter, Emily (William) Blyzes of Perryville; son, Matthew Cornelius of Perryville; three Sisters, Pamela (Tommy) Horton of Dexter, MO, Sandra Cato of Dexter, MO, Amy (Greg) Reynolds of McClure, IL; five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation was Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
A visitation will continue between 8 am until time of service at 10 am on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville, with Pastor Joseph Schlie officiating.
Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery in Perryville.
Memorial contributions may be given to Stoddard County Children’s Home Memorial Tribute Fund or LCMS World Relief and Human Care - The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.
