Elvira Mathilda (nee Klaus) Roth was called to her heavenly home on September 23, 2022 at the age of 98 years-10 months and 4 days.
She was born on November 19, 1923 at Seventy-Six, MO to August and Mathilda (nee Mahnken) Klaus. She was baptized at Salem Lutheran Church on November 29, 1923.
She was confirmed on April 10, 1938 at Salem Lutheran Church and her confirmation verse was Rev 2:10 - Be thou faithful unto death and I will give thee a crown of life.
Elvira was married to Willard Roth on August 20, 1950 at Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar by Rev. W. F. Dommer. Her husband preceded her in death on October 16, 2004.
Elvira was a homemaker and the last Post Mistress at the Witttenburg Post Office. She was a lifelong member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Wittenburg until it’s closing and then became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg. She enjoyed piecing quilts and quilting, gardening, writing poems, and most of all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a faithful reader of the Bible and loved her Lord. She was a Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir and held various positions in the LWML at St. Pauls in Wittenburg.
Elvira is preceded in death by her husband Willard, son Michael, grandson Andrew Peetz , her parents, sisters Flora Hein, Marie Anna Theiss, brothers Rupert and Irvin Klaus.

Survivors include three daughters, Joy (Darryl) Peetz, Lois (Michael) Pilz, Edie Mueller; two Sons, Robert (Mary) Roth, Kenneth (Sue) Roth; Daughter-in-law, Audrey Roth; thirteen grandchildren, Joshua Peetz, Ashley Pilz, Shauna Huber, Adam Roth, Danielle Barrett, Stacey Roth, Blake Mueller, Andrea Stafford, Meghan Neffendorf, Carmen Hadler, Amanda Hager, Dustin Roth, Hailey Roth; and twenty great grandchildren.
Visitation was held September 28, 2022 at Ford & Young East Perry Chapel in Altenburg. Visitation will continue Thursday September 29 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg.
Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday September 29, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Steven Dressler officiating.
Burial will be at at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Lutheran Hour, LFCS, Trinity Lutheran Church or Charity of your Choice.
