Clifford R. Schmidt

Clifford Ritchie Schmidt, 73, of Altenburg, Missouri passed away Saturday, June 1, 2024 at his residence.
He was born August 27, 1950 in Cape Girardeau, MO to Elmer and Lorna (Hasse) Schmidt.
Clifford and Karon Sue Sterling were married November 11, 1972 at Altenburg.
He was a lead man at Gilster Mary Lee for 25 years. Clifford loved fishing, hunting, woodworking and was a Chicago Cubs fan.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include son, Rodney Schmidt of Ste. Genevieve, MO; two daughters, Cherie (Keith) Hazel of Jackson, MO, Melissa (Mayank) Gupta of Chicago, IL; sister, Doreen Carpenter of New Wells; two brothers, Ron (Arlyss) Schmidt of Altenburg, Robert (Diane) Schmidt of Altenburg; five grandchildren, Bryan Strubinger, Jacob Schmidt, Josh Schmidt, Matthew Schmidt, Thomas Woodworth.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Merlin Schmidt; brother-in-law, William Carpenter.
Visitation will be from 10 am-noon on Monday, June 10, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg.
Funeral Service will be at noon Monday, June 10, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg with Rev. Frank Lucas officiating.
Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Altenburg.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
