William “Bill” G. Jones, 61, of Perryville, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at his residence.
He was born September 19, 1961 in Perryville to Grover and Doris (Hansen) Jones. He was baptized September 1961 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Friedheim.
He and Paula Lawson were married on October 4, 1986 in Minnesota.
Bill was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville, where he also served on the Board of Elders.
In his professional career he was Assistant Chief of Police; Assistant Fire Chief, Arson Investigator with the State Fire Marshals office, Hazardous Materials Technician, City of Perryville Emergency Management Director, he was also a paramedic and adjunct instructor for SEMO law enforcement academy.
Bill was also a member of numerous organizations such as; Missouri Fire Chiefs Association, International Association of Arson Investigators, International Association of Fire Chiefs, Missouri IAAI, FFAM, Missouri Emergency Management Association, Professional Fire and Fraud Investigators Association, Ozark Firefighters Association, Kansas City Arson Task Force, Cape Girardeau Area Fire Training Library; where he was President, Missouri Peace Officers Association, and Sons of the American Legion; where he was Commander
Survivors include his wife, Paula of Perryville; daughter, Amy Jones of Perryville; sister, Jamie Storey of Florida; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
