There will be Saxony Lutheran representation at top track meet this spring. Five athletes qualified after competing in the Class 2 sectional meet Saturday at Lutheran North High School. Anna Thomason and Isabella Deckerd will each compete in four events, while Bianca Scholl and Ava Brown will be part of the 4x100 meter relay team.

To qualify for the state meet, an athlete had to place in the top four in any event.
Thomason and Deckerd, who have been the most consistent Crusaders this spring, showed off on Saturday.
Deckerd finished first in the 200-meter dash (26.01 seconds), second in the 100 meter (12.73). and second in the long jump (16 feet-10 inches). Thomason finished first in the 100-meter hurdles (15.46) by nearly two seconds over Laticia Hamilton of Caruthersville. She also finished second in the high jump (5-3.00), and second in the triple jump (36-1.50).
Thomason and Deckerd were part of the 4x100 meter relay team with Scholl and Brown, which finished first (51.25). Ochs took third in the high jump (5-10.0) to qualify for the state meet.
Other Crusaders competed as well at the sectional meet, but did not qualify. Bryanna Hale finished fifth in the 100-meter dash (17.91) to narrowly miss qualification.
Freshman Myra Roth finished sixth in the 3,200-meter run (13:58.74) and Rebecca Yunck finished seventh in the javelin and pole vault.
The state meet is Friday and Saturday in Columbia.

Perryville will send two athletes to the Class 4 sectional meet as Dominic Mathathath and Tegan Bishop will move on after competing in the Class 4, District 1 meet at Cape Central Saturday. Mathathath qualified for the sectional meet after finishing second in the triple jump (40-9.25).
Bishop qualified in two distance events. Bishop finished second in the 800 meter (2:29.23) and third in the 3,200 meter (12:26.15)
