Golf is as unpredictable as any sport in the spring. St. Vincent found that out on Tuesday.
St. Vincent finished tied for sixth at the Class 1 state meet in Columbia.
The Indians were sitting pretty after day one as they sat in third play. The Indians were 20 strokes off the lead at that point with a team score of 367.
Day two was not much worse with a score of 371, but other teams shot much better. St. Vincent’s second day score was the highest of any school, which slid St. Vincent down to sixth.
Payton Strattman finished tied for 20th with a two day score of 172. Strattman shot an 87 on day one and 85 on day 2.
Sam Koishor finished 39th overall with a two day score of 184. Koishor shot 91 on day one and 93 on day two.
Grant Abernathy and Garrett Brickhaus finished tied for 54th with a score of 191
Saxony Lutheran’s Michael Hasz was the only Crusader to go to the state meet and he finished tied for 18th with a score of 171.
