Roger Lynn Etzold, 65, of Perryville, passed away Monday, June 19, 2023 at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
He was born August 30, 1957 in Perryville, MO to Milton Melvin and Mary Ann Olivia (Lohmann) Etzold.
Roger and Janet Marie Kirn were married on November 21, 1981 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville.
In his younger days, Roger was on the diving team, enjoyed playing men’s fast-pitch softball and working on his Torino.
Roger was a meat processor, owner of Etzold Packing, and a member of the Missouri Association of Meat Processors. He enjoyed playing guitar and singing old country music, cave exploring, ATV rides and walking the banks of the Mississippi. He loved spending time with his family, friends and grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. He never missed a T-ball or soccer game. Roger was friends with everyone and was known for generating a good time. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Longtown and later became a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville.
Survivors include son, Chad (Sierra) Etzold; daughter, Bridget (Andrew) Bachmann; two brothers, Kevin (Donna) Etzold, Brian (Brenda) Etzold; sister, Sherry (James) Gibbar; five grandchildren, Blair, Hayes & Baylor Etzold, Milo & Adley Bachmann.
