Letter to the Editor: Public Servant Accountability

Posted

Dear Editor

In almost every occupation, from hairstylists to doctors, there are requirements for training, testing and licensing from third parties or government entities. In my case, as an aerospace scientist, I have over a decade of formal education, internal company training, licensing and top-secret clearances via FBI background checks.

We are living in a time in which almost every aspect of our lives is impacted by governmental public servant's decisions, actions and alliances. Why would we not want these people to have some form of accountability? Currently, their only allegiance is to campaign fundraisers, lobbyists and the establishment.

We have a runaway government at all levels, and it is beyond time to rein it in. The current vetting process being implemented in Missouri is definitely a step in the right direction. To emphasize such, we have over 360 Missouri candidates that have voluntarily become vetted to first and foremost be servants of the public and to uphold the Republican platform.

Do you want public servants accountable to you and the Republican platform or the status quo establishment politicians accountable to lobbyists?
