Piranhas earn 13 top finishes at Ste. Genevieve meet

Thirteen is not an unlucky number for the Perryville Piranhas swim team.
The Piranhas earned 13 first place finishes at the Ste. Genevieve meet on July 9.
Muriel Brummel, who is in the 9-10 age group, earned a top finish in each race she competed in: the 50 meter freestyle (38.04 seconds), the 50 meter breaststroke (48.34) and the 100 meter individual medley (1:35.41).
Lux Meyer, who competed in the 8 and under category, did the same.
She finished first in all four of her events: the 25 meter breaststroke (22.48), 25 butterfly (19.67), 50 meter freestyle (40.53), and the 100 meter individual medley (1:41.58)
Paxton Meyer had two first place finishes in his three events. He took first in the 100 meter backdtroke (1:16.98) in the boys 13-14 age group. He also took first in the breaststroke (1:21.01). Meyer took second in the 200 individal medley (2:43.28)
Alivia Yamnitz took first in the 50 meter backstroke (46.92) in the girls 9-10 age group.

She also took third in the 50 meter freestyle (41.72)
Anna Yamnitz took a single first place in the 50 meter breaststroke (41.41)
Brayden Downey took first in the mixed six and under 25 meter backdtroke
Other strong finishes included Myla Brummel, who had two second place finished (100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke)
Downey also took second in the 25 meter freestyle (26.01).
Hendrix Meyer took seconds in the 100 meter freestyle (1:17.05)
As a team the Piranhas took fourth with a total score of 410.5.
The next meet is the Championship meet at RCA in Cape July 16.
