While many coaches are focused on the games at hand this week, others can look forward to the postseason. The Missouri State High School Activities Association recently released its class and district assignments for the spring season.
Two of the local baseball teams will be grouped together as Saxony Lutheran and St. Vincent will be in Class 2, District 3 yet again. St. Vincent defeated Saxony Lutheran last season in the semifinals of the tournament, before falling to Chaffee in the title game 6-3. The two schools will see a familiar group in the tournament as Bloomfield, Chaffee, Meadow Heights, and Puxico are in the district.
Perryville will also move to Class 4, District 1 this season, after spending time in District 2 last season. Perryville is grouped with Dexter, Doniphan, Fredericktown, and Kennett.
Saxony Lutheran girls soccer will try to get back to the Class 1 final four, after finishing third last season. Class 1 soccer is divided into four large districts with District 1, where Saxony is grouped, having 10 teams. Saxony will be grouped with Bishop DuBourg, Brentwood, Collegiate School of Med-Bio Science, Gateway Science Charter, Hancock, Kelly, Maplewood Richmond Heights, McKinely Classic Leadership, and Valley Park.
