Martin Alan Clifton, 71, of Lawrence, Kansas, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. He was born in Perryville, Missouri, on October 16, 1951, to the late Martin Clifton and Lonieta Ruessler Clifton.
As a young man, Martin was drafted into the US Army and did a tour of duty in Vietnam.
Martin married his high school sweetheart, Eunice Ochs, on July 8, 1972, in Perryville, Missouri. After graduation from Southeast Missouri University, he worked for over 30 years for JC Penney Company.
Survivors include his wife, Eunice, two daughters Alayna (Cordairo) Hansen of Lawrence, Kansas, Jessica (Derek) Couch of Baldwin City, Kansas, five grandchildren, Bailey Couch, Brynlee Couch, Preston Hansen, Camden Hansen and Grayden Hansen; one sister, Anna (Charles) Brune of Perryville, and one brother, Paul (Betty) Clifton of Perryville. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Martin will be greatly missed by his loving wife and numerous family members, friends and acquaintances. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, June 24, 2023, at the Family Church in Wellsville, Kansas, with Pastor Curtis Wright officiating.
Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks columbarium in St. Louis, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Baldwin City Family Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 247, Wellsville, KS, 66092.
