In today's rapidly changing world, I believe it's essential to make the case for conservatism. Conservatism is often misunderstood as being resistant to change, but it's actually about preserving the values and institutions and our faith that have made our home and our country great.
Conservatism stands for limited government intervention, individual freedom, and personal responsibility. It promotes free market principles, which have lifted millions out of poverty and created unprecedented prosperity.
Moreover, conservatives value tradition and community, recognizing that our shared heritage and social bonds are essential to a functioning, reliable society.
I strongly caution against the trend of "15-minute cities," which aim to confine residents to a small, walkable area for all their needs. This concept risks exacerbating urban density, increasing housing costs, and limiting economic opportunities. It also threatens to erode individual freedom and autonomy, forcing people into a narrow, predetermined, boring, lethargic, and dependent lifestyle.
In an era of increasing polarization, I urge readers to consider the merits of conservative thought and the potential harms of overly restrictive urban planning. By embracing conservatism through REAL Republican values, we can foster a more balanced and sustainable approach to limited governance and a robust civic life.
