Joan M. Gibbar

Joan M. Gibbar, 88, of Perryville died Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Holiday Residential Care in Perryville.
She was born January 6, 1935 in St. Mary to Henry F. and Myrtle M. (Lawrence) Doll.
Joan and Harry J. Gibbar were married October 22, 1955 at Immaculate Conception in St. Marys, MO. He preceded her in death on April 6, 1969.
She was a technician at TG Missouri. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church and St. Vincent Thrift Store.
Joan enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, camping, baking and helping at St. Vincent after school care.
Survivors include two sons, Bruce J. (Connie) Gibbar of Perryville, Doug (Dana) Gibbar of Perryville; two daughters, Mary (David) Leible of Perryville, Ann Gibbar of Poplar Bluff; son-in law, Carl Miller of Ste. Genevieve; sister, Marcella Martin of St. Marys; eleven grandchildren; twenty nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry J. Gibbar; daughter, Sheila (Carl) Miller; two brothers, Patrick Doll, Arthur V. Doll; sister, Evelyn Voelker.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville. Visitation will continue on Thursday, August 3, 2023 from 8-9:45 am. at Ford & Young Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited at 8:15am.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 am on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Perryville with Rev. Ben Melaku C.M. officiating.
Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent Schools or Crown Hospice.
