Gary “Hambone” Weinhold, 71, of Perryville died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville.
He was born March 14, 1949 in Cape Girardeau to Oscar R. and Edna S. (Meinz) Weinhold. He and Kim Hudson were married Dec. 10, 1994 in Emminence. She survives in Perryville.
He was a truck driver for Siemens Transportation. He had previously driven for Steinbecker Livestock, Gilster Mary-Lee and C & G in Fruitland. He was a member of the Lutheran Faith, a 32nd Degree Mason, a booster member of the American Legion Post 133 and had served four years in the National Guard. Gary loved driving his truck across the country, taking rides in his John Deere Gator with his dog Layla, working on his farm and spending time with his family and friends.
Other survivors include two sons, Jamie Weinhold of Perryville, Matthew Weinhold of Poplar Bluff; daughter, Leslie (John) Weinhold-Stone of Madison, Miss.; granddaughter, Reagan Stone; expecting twin granddaughters in March; sister, Jeanne (Melvin) Kassel of Saint Charles; two nephews, Kirk (Sarah) Kassel of O’Fallon, Ill., Kraig (Dana) Kassel of Weldon Springs; niece Kari Kassell of St. Charles two great-nieces; one great-nephew; two great-great-nieces and his beloved dog Layla.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends were called at Ford & Young Funeral Home on Tuesday, Nov. 3 and on Wednesday, Nov. 4 with Rev. Kevin Barron officiating. Burial was be in Brazeau Presbyterian Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Shriners Hospital for Children or St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
