Perryville senior Tegan Bishop is in for a good season, if her first race is any indication.
Bishop, who has the Perryville girls school record for time looks to already be in mid-season form. She took first place in the senior race at the Jackson Inviatational.
The Jackson meet is different tthan others throughout the season as runners compete against others at the same grade level on a course that is just over two miles, as opposed to the more traditional 5K.
Whatever the competition or course length, Bishop excelled with a time of 15 minutes, 41.01 seconds.
That time put her ahead of the field by more than 35 seconds.
In that same race St. Vincent senior Gabrielle Gremaud ran 21:02,64 for 22nd place and Saxony Lutheran's Eden Dehne ran 21:41.99 for 26th place.
Bishop wasn't the only runner with a good finish as the Perryville sophomore boys also had three top 10 finishes.
Bair Hopkins finished at 14:05.08 for 7th place, while Porter Hoeckele finished with 14:10.14 for 9th and his brother Preston finished 10th with a time of 14:16.74.
