The Perryville Conference of the Society of St Vincent de Paul is thrilled to unveil an exciting development that will enhance their ability to support the community by expanding their operations and services to keep pace with growing demands.
In the summer of 2022, they acquired the American Legion Colonnade building and 1.3 acres of land at 312 N Jackson Street, marking a significant step forward for their nonprofit thrift store.
According to Andy Graf, President of the Society, “Our commitment to the community has led us to launch a dynamic capital campaign. The aim of this campaign is to unite the community in support of our mission and enable us to fulfill our vision of a more comprehensive and efficient facility. By raising funds, we plan to expand our retail space, allowing us to accommodate our thrift store, warehouse and operations offices all on one campus.”
The project has good early returns for fundraising.
“In this early phase of fundraising, we are delighted to announce that through the Missouri Department of Economic Development Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) we have received $350,000 of tax credits to offer eligible donors. This provides us the opportunity to raise $500,000 to fund our thrift store expansion. In short, any business donating to our cause will reduce their Missouri state tax by 70% of the donated amount. Your eligible federal and state tax deduction for contributions can make your donation almost entirely covered by your tax obligation. We welcome conversations with local Missouri businesses interested in supporting our cause.” Graf said.

Established in 1996, the Society of St Vincent De Paul is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that stands at the forefront of assisting Perry County residents in need. Collaborating with many families, the Society has helped them fulfill their basic necessities through funding from the thrift store. With a dedicated team of over 60 volunteers, proceeds are used to assist neighbors in need.
