Senior Center seeking donations

As consumers have been tightening their belts regarding purchases, charitable donations have also slowed. According to reports from the Associated Press, many nonprofits have seen a sharp decline in donations in 2022 and the first two quarters of 2023.
The Perry County Senior Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which operates in conjunction with the Area Agency on Aging in the state of Missouri. It relies on the suggested donation for our meals along with charitable donations from local corporations, businesses, and individuals.

According to director Jennifer Freeman, a donation of $100 pays for 25 meals for a homebound person living under the poverty level.
A delivered meal also delivers assurance to family members who count on us to check on their loved one every day.
As opposed to some nationally known charities, 100 percent of a donation to the Perry County Senior Center goes to fund the Meals on Wheels program.
Thanks to low overhead and volunteers, Freeman said they are proud to be serving more than 200 meals a day to homebound clients and asks that everyone please remember the Senior Center when recommending a memorial donation for a loved one or during the holidays when deciding where to donate.
