Rotary postpones fireworks display

Due to the countywide no burn advisory put into action on Monday, June 26, The Rotary Club of Perryville has postponed the annual fireworks display set for July 3 in the Perryville City Park.
The club plans on hosting the show later in the year when weather conditions are more forgiving.
“This is not the first time the Rotary Club has rescheduled the show,” Rotary President Linda Buerck said. “The safety of the community is the priority, and making sure we are not adding strain to our fire department and emergency management personnel with the show. We will host the display when it can be done safely for all those involved.”
The Rotary Club of Perryville will meet later this week to determine a rescheduled date for the show to be held.
In 2020, in an effort to slow the spread of Covid-19 during the pandemic, the club postponed the annual Fourth of July display until September to coincide with Labor Day celebrations.
