Dear Editor,
Just off the Perryville Square stands a ‘Mr. Grinch’ atop his perch on Jackson Street. His presence there kept me apprehensive during the holidays.
City workers, as described in a recent article by Mrs. Mary Jane Buchheit, of Mary Jane Restaurant fame, had the Square beautifully dressed in a ‘Magical Wonderland of Lights’. I made it my duty to walk around the Square each morning at 5:15 to check on the Lights. Were they on or were they off? Grinch, being Grinch, would he bludgeon the Magic by pulling the plug or throwing a switch?
Thankfully, the Lights were always on. Stand by, Mr. Grinch, for a belated present from Santa: a red leotard.
