Letter to the Editor: Enormously troubled, distraught

Posted

Dear Editor:
Lots of things going on in this so troubled land and world.
As an American, a hopefully informed & certainly committed citizen and a Vietnam veteran, I’m enormously troubled and distraught that in the third decade of this 21st century, a civilized, peaceful European country of 40 million human beings: men, women and children could be first mercilessly threatened and then perfidiously attacked by its neighbor...for no reason other than the ego and paranoia of a megalomaniac searching for some kind of purpose...other than power, control, even more wealth... the curiously similar fantasy to another recent vintage megalomaniac autocrat... “making Russia great again” and an eternally evasive, and now lost for eternity, sense of self-worth.

The result: potentially millions of lives lost, certainly millions of families devastated & rendered a veritable refugee wave rolling over likely most, if not all of Europe: destabilizing countries and peoples, engendering ethnic, economic & military insecurities which may last for decades... and that is... if this increasingly unstable and depraved autocrat doesn’t go off the deep end and pull a nuclear trigger which sends us all home to the promised land.
