Two Eureka residents suffered minor injuries in an accident involving three vehicles and a deer on Interstate 55 in Perry County on Friday evening.
According to an accident report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Hannah E. Hiles, 17, and Alexis R. Wibbenmeyer, 18, both of Eureka Springs were hurt when the vehicle they were riding in struck a deer on the southbound side of I-55 near the 125 mile marker south of Perryville.
After the initial impact, driver Hailee R. Broyles, 23, of Chaffee, swerved into the left lane and struck another vehicle driven by Austin C. Belloli, 18, also of Eureka, before continuing off the left side of the road and striking a cable barrier in the median.
Meanwhile, another southbound vehicle, a tractor-trailer driven by Dmitry O. Doroshenko, 29, of Kansas City struck the same deer.

None of the drivers were injured in the crash, but Perry County Ambulance Service transported Hiles and Wibbenmeyer to Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville for treatment of what was described as minor injuries.
According to the report, everyone involved was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The accident happened at approximately 6:35 p.m. and shut down both lanes of traffic on the southbound side for approximately an hour as first responders, including firefighters from the Perryville Fire Department and deputies from the Perry County Sheriff’s Office, worked the scene. Traffic was restored to one lane at approximately 7:30 p.m. and both lanes were open by 8 p.m.
Broyles’ vehicle, a 2013 Hyundai Sonata, suffered extensive damage and was towed from the scene by Hunsaker Towing, as was Belloli’s 2013 Toyota Camry. The tractor-trailer driven by Doroshenko, a 2015 Freightliner Conventional, suffered moderate damage, but was driven from the scene.
