Halie French, a teacher at Perryville Elementary School, was selected as September’s Republic-Monitor Teacher of the Month in an online vote by readers. In a letter nominating her for the award, sponsored by Bening Ford and Mineral Area College, a reader wrote: “I have witnessed firsthand her remarkable dedication, warmth, and innovative approach to education. Mrs. French goes above and beyond standard classroom expectations. She embodies the very best of our school community through her compassion, leadership, and unwavering commitment to her students’ success. She
is truly deserving of this recognition. French received a gift certificate from Domino’s to host a pizza party for her class and a gift certificate from Villainous Grounds.
