The St. Marcus Church in Biehle is hosting a breakfast and fall festival on October 18.
Breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m.
“This is the second fall festival we’ve had in Beale at St. Morris Church,” said church member Dawn Seabaugh. “We transitioned from our annual summer picnic to a fall event last year and we thought that everyone enjoyed it and it turned out to be quite successful. So we’re doing it again this year. It’s in coordination with our breakfast. We host four breakfasts that drove quite a crowd, about 700 to 800 people.”
A craft fair will be held from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m .featuring more than 20 craft vendors. There will be games for the whole family all day starting at 9 a.m. A 7 pt pitch tournament willn begin at 12:30.
“We’ve got a ton of fun stuff for the kids to do,” Seabaugh said. “Games in which they can win prizes, as well as putt-putt golf and a Tiny Tots bounce house. All that takes place from nine to five.”
Breakfast is $12 for adults and $6 for kids, and will include sausage, eggs, potatoes, biscuits, gravy, pancakes, and coffee cake. Kids 6 and under are free.
Seabaugh said the event is important for the community because it is not only a fundraiser for the church, but a chance for people from around the region to see what Biehle has to offer.
“Last year we had over 500 people, so this year we’re really looking forward to it,” she said. “we really are excited about bringing people back to the Biehle community. We’ve got several businesses in Biehle. We’ve gotten a new restaurant that’s opened, Leonard’s. There used to be a craft fair in Daisey years ago and I think they might have had one in Sparta. That was a huge attraction for people from all over the area and it’s just kind of exciting to see that maybe we’re trying to get that same idea started for our community.”
There will be a mass at 9:30 a.m. with Reverend Michael Bend.
