Streets will close Thursday for Mayfest

In a letter to area businesses, the Perryville Area Chamber of Commerce will be closing streets for the annual Mayfest event.
“The Perryville Area Chamber of Commerce and the 2024 Perryville Mayfest Committee want to thank you for your consideration and support of Chamber events. The 39th Annual Mayfest event is drawing closer. We appreciate your patience and cooperation for the preparation and operation of the Perryville Mayfest.
In order to prepare for the two-day event, we wanted to let you know when the streets will be closed and when the “No Parking” around the square will begin. We want to thank you in advance for your cooperation and patience. We plan to post the “No Parking” signs on the Tuesday prior to the event (weather permitting)

Thursday, May 9-No parking will begin on Thursday at 4:00PM on Ste. Marie St. (between Main St. & Jackson St.) and Jackson St. (between St. Joseph and Ste. Marie St.) and will end Sunday morning. These sections of the streets will be closed to traffic beginning at 4:00PM to allow for event setup and will reopen when complete (no later than 10:00PM)
Friday, May 10- Those same streets will close to traffic at 12:00PM and remain closed until 12:00am on Saturday. At 4:00 PM the Jackson St. closure will extend to The American Legion and remain closed until Sunday morning. Please note, a portion of Grand Ave. will also be closed to allow for the carnival, as well. The parade will begin at 6:00PM and the route will be closed to traffic until complete.
Saturday, May 11- “No Parking” will be extended for Main St. from the corner of Ste. Marie to South St., for St. Joseph St. from the Community Center to the corner of West St. as well as Jackson St. to the corner of W. South St. to allow for the craft fair. This will begin at 12:00AM and end at 5:00PM. Streets will close in these same areas beginning at 5:00AM and remain closed until 5:00PM
