DE SOTO — St. Vincent and Perryville turned in a full slate of performances across the track and field events at the De Soto Invitational on April 17, highlighted by multiple top-3 finishes and contributions throughout their lineups. As a team, the St. Vincent boys placed 5th with 51 points, while Perryville finished 11th with 35.5. On the girls' side, St. Vincent took 9th with 45 points, and Perryville was 17th with 4.
The top 3 boys' teams were De Soto (97), Jefferson (Festus) (81), and Kelly (55), while the girls' standings were led by Seckman (115), Windsor (86), and De Soto (63). On the boys’ side, St. Vincent was led by Carter Hennemann, who placed 2nd in the 400 meters with a time of 52.20 seconds and 3rd in the 800 in 2 minutes, 4.68 seconds. Jackson Seabaugh added a 3rd-place finish in the 200 (22.85) and took 4th in the 100 (11.21), while Kale Meyer finished 3rd in the 400 (53.58) and 10th in the 100 (11.79).
In the 200, Hunter Mattingly placed 22nd (25.17). In distance events, Luke Ryan finished 18th in the 1,600 (5:25.96) and 16th in the 3,200 (12:12.15), while Jackson Strattman placed 20th in the 1,600 (5:40.33) and Caden Hadler was 18th in the 3,200 (12:26.61). Carter Herman added a 9th-place finish in the 800 (2:13.90).
In relays, the Indians placed 2nd in the 800-meter relay (1:33.91), 6th in the 400-meter relay (46.15) and 10th in the 3,200-meter relay (9:40.91). In the field events, Kellan Pitts placed 3rd in the high jump, clearing 1.78 meters, 13th in the long jump (5.65) and 7th in the triple jump (11.67). Mason Naeger tied for 9th in the high jump (1.68), placed 14th in the long jump (5.64) and 8th in the triple jump (11.44), while also finishing 23rd in the javelin (31.49).
Noah Pecaut placed 15th in the shot put (11.48), and Ethan Finger was 32nd (8.46). In the discus, Daniel Sauer finished 27th (27.45), and Austin Miller was 28th (24.88). Kelby Meyer added a 30th-place finish in the javelin (22.27). Perryville was led by Xzyavier Wilson, who placed 2nd in the long jump (6.30) and 3rd in the triple jump (12.31).
In running events, Micah Brown placed 6th in the 800 (2:08.66), Jacob Goehman finished 20th in the 200 (24.99), and Preston Cooper took 10th in the 400 (55.47). In relays, the Pirates placed 6th in the 1,600-meter relay (3:50.01). In the throws, Ben Huber placed 3rd in the discus (43.81), while Destyn Morgan finished 6th (41.70) and also placed 7th in the shot put (12.38). Sergio Mendoza added a 24th-place finish in the shot put (10.44).
Adrian Mendoza placed 14th in the javelin (35.43), and Cyler Myers finished 18th (32.54). Dezmen Hampson tied for 4th in the high jump (1.73). In girls’ events, St. Vincent was led by Reagan Meyer, who won the 800 (2:18.86). Brynn Renner placed 2nd in the 400 (1:03.24), while Kaitlin Lobbig finished 8th (1:07.44) and added a 15th-place finish in the 200 (29.04).
In distance events, Anna Welker placed 7th in the 1,600 (6:05.03) and 4th in the 3,200 (13:09.60), while Audrey Amschler finished 10th in the 800 (2:44.99) and Adeline Carlton was 22nd in the 1,600 (6:57.96).
Emma Moore placed 20th in the 100 (13.86), and Payton Unterreiner was 22nd in the 200 (30.99).
The Lady Indians won the 3,200-meter relay (10:32.26), placed 2nd in the 1,600-meter relay (4:18.08), 8th in the 800-meter relay (1:56.46) and 11th in the 400-meter relay (55.63).
In the field events, Sydney Taylor placed 19th in the long jump (4.12) and 20th in the discus (21.83), while also competing in multiple events. Camille Lauck was 30th in the long jump (3.65).
Taylor Schumer placed 25th in the shot put (7.45), 24th in the discus (21.12) and 29th in the javelin (17.69), while Sybina Nations finished 28th in the shot put (6.99) and 27th in the javelin (19.83).
Perryville’s top individual finish came from Annabelle Del Rosario, who tied for 4th in the pole vault (2.44).
Brooklyn Zahner placed 25th in the 100 (14.35), Alexa Hagan finished 20th in the 400 (1:15.44), and Lucy Blythe took 9th in the 3,200 (15:19.00).
In the field events, Paula Sticht placed 16th in the shot put (8.30) and 27th in the discus (18.70), while Kaygan Stell was 29th in the shot put (6.98) and 21st in the discus (21.53).
