The St. Vincent High School athletics program had a lot of success during fall competition, so it’s no wonder that many of the school’s individual athletes earned postseason honors.

Topping the list, from the school’s Class 2 state champion volleyball team were sisters Brie and Kate Rubel, who were named to the Class 2 All-State team, along with earning first-team All-district and all-conference honors. Brie Rubel was also named the Jefferson County Athletic Association’s Conference Player of the Year.

Alaina Cates was also named to the All-district first team, while Clara Clifton and Sophie Verseman earned second team honors. Cates and Callie Schnurbusch were named second team all-conference, while Verseman was named an honorable mention.

In cross country, where St. Vincent senior Reagan Meyer finished third in the MSHSAA Class 1 state meet to lead the Lady Indians to a fourth-place team finish, Mayer and sophomore teammate Anna Welker earned All-State honors, along with junior Carter Henneman, one of two state qualifiers for the Indians. Henneman finished eighth at the state meet.

Henneman, Meyer and Welker all earned All-district honors along with Audrey Amschler, Jocelyn Weibrecht, and Luke Ryan, who also ran at the state meet.

Henneman was named second-team all-conference, while Meyer and Welker earned honorable mentions.

In softball, three St. Vincent girls competed on the Saxony Lutheran team as part of a cooperative agreement, and two earned postseason honors. Senior Jenna Unterreiner was named first-team all district and first-team all region, while sophomore Onna Boland was named second-team all district.

On the football field, the Indians had a respectable season, claiming a conference title and finishing 7-4 after making it to the second round of district play.

Earning first-team all-conference honors for the Indians were quarterback Wyatt Winkler, wide receiver and punter Max Wheeler, tackle Gavin Hotop, inside linebacker Carson House, outside linebacker Adam Brickhaus, and defensive back Gus Unterreiner.

Earning second team honors were running back, defensive back and kick returner Jack Seabaugh, wide receiver Kale Meyer, center Wyatt Rosenquist, guard Jacob Meyer, defensive end Daniel Sauer, defensive lineman Elliott Wibbenmeyer, and inside linebacker Derek Garza.

Honorable mentions for the Indians were wide receiver Case Huber, tackle Elliott Wibbenmeyer, defensive lineman Jacob Meyer, outside linebacker Quinton Whistler, and kicker Clay Ellis.
