Seabaugh, Hennemann lead SV; Pirates shine

HILLSBORO — St. Vincent and Perryville turned in a number of strong performances on March 23 at the Hillsboro Co-Ed Hawk Relays, highlighted by multiple event victories and top-3 finishes on both the boys and girls sides.

St. Vincent’s boys team was led by a dominant showing from Jackson Seabaugh, who swept the sprint events. Seabaugh captured the 100-meter dash in 11.43 and followed with a win in the 200 in 23.34.

The Indians also controlled the distance events. Carter Hennemann claimed 2 titles, winning the 800 (2:10.63) and the 1600 (4:52.81), while teammate Carter Herman placed 2nd in the 800 and added a 4th-place finish in the 1600.

In the field events, Kellan Pitts placed 2nd in both the long jump (5.84m) and triple jump (11.74m), while Mason Naeger added a 3rd-place finish in the triple jump.

Perryville’s boys squad also produced strong results, particularly in the field events.

Ben Huber led the Pirates with a win in the discus (41.75m) and a 2nd-place finish in the shot put (12.26m). Destyn Morgan added a runner- up finish in the discus and placed 3rd in the shot put.

Xzyavier Wilson delivered a standout performance in the jumps, winning the long jump (6.58m) and triple jump (12.45m), while also tying for 2nd in the high jump.

On the track, Preston Cooper placed 4th in the 400 in the jumps, winning the long jump (6.58m) and triple jump (12.45m), while also tying for 2nd in the high jump.

On the girls' side, St. Vincent continued its strong showing with multiple top finishes.

Brynn Renner highlighted the effort by winning the 400 (1:06.21) and placing 3rd in the 100. Anna Welker added victories in both distance races, taking the 800 (2:50.48) and 1600 (6:18.57).

The Lady Indians also received contributions from across the lineup, including a 3rd-place finish in the long jump by Sydney Taylor (4.13m) and a 4th-place finish in the javelin by Jenna Unterreiner (26.17m).

Perryville’s girls' team found success in several field events.

Annabelle Del Rosario won the pole vault (2.29m), while Janie Porter captured the high jump (1.17m) and added a 2nd-place finish in the triple jump and a 4th-place finish in the long jump.

Hope Endicott placed 3rd in the 800, and Brooklyn Zahner turned in a strong performance with a 3rd-place finish in the 200.

Both programs showed depth throughout the meet, with St. Vincent excelling on the track and Perryville making its mark in the field events as the two Perry County schools continued to build momentum early in the season.
