Saxony girls dominate

OAK RIDGE — Saxony Lutheran freshman Emmy Bengtson finished fourth with a time of 23 minutes, 56.20 seconds to lead a high-scoring crew of Lady Crusaders at the Oak Ridge XC Invite on Friday, Sept. 26.

Teammate Raylee Matthews, a junior, was fifth in 24:17.94, while sophomore Eva Williamson was 11th in 25:12.73 and freshman Briley Meyr was 12th in 25:21.01. Junior Adalyn Brandhorst was 14th in 26:12.52, followed by sophomore Gretchen Wolfe in 15th with a time of 26:17.77. Rounding out the list of finishers were Allee Mckee in 22nd with a time of 29:20.56, Megan Birk in 25th at 32:43.77, and Olivia Petzoldt, who was 26th in 33:29.83.

As the only team with enough scoring runners, the Saxony girls claimed first place in the team standings.

On the boys’ side, Jacob Schupp was 11th in 20:21.76, Evan Ward was 14th in 20:31.09, Mark Richey was 23rd in 21:29.55, Samuel Petzoldt was 25th in 21:46.78, Noah Meyr was 67th in 27:56.65, and Walter Meyer was 75th in 34:21.84.

Meadow Heights claimed the boys’ team title with 60 points, followed by Oak Ridge with 64, and Bloomfield with 84. The Saxony Lutheran boys finished fourth with 102 points.
