Roger W. Fuehler, 83, of Shawneetown, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Jackson, where he resided the past three years.
Roger was born December 27, 1939, in Shawneetown, to Ernst O. and Lillian E. Thauwald Fuehler. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Shawneetown, also the church of his baptism and confirmation.
Roger was a graduate of Jackson High School. He honorably served in the U.S. Army from May 9, 1963 to April 26, 1965, spending nearly 19 months in Germany, during the Vietnam War Era.
Roger was a parts clerk, working 30 years at Auto Tire and Parts in Perryville. In his spare time, Roger enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Loving survivors include two siblings, June Fuehler of Cape Girardeau, and Donald (Millie) Fuehler of St. Charles, Missouri; several cousins; and his caregiver, Pat Hecht of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Harlan Fuehler.
A memorial visitation was held from 11 a.m. to service time, Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Shawneetown. The Rev. Virgil Kelm conducted a memorial service Wednesday, April 26, at the church. Interment and military rites followed at the church cemetery.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Trinity Lutheran Church (Shawneetown).
