PHS, SV compete in weekend cross country events

Perryville, and St. Vincent competed in cross country competition over the weekend. 

Perryville competed in the Arcadia Valley invitational in Joplin. The boys team finished 22nd, with the fastest runner being sophomore Easton Blechle, who finished 64th out of a field of more than 120 runners, with a time of 19:29.59.

The girls team finished 12th, with the fastest runner being senior Lucy Blythe, who finished 61st in the field of more than 120 runners, with a time of 25:35.92.

St. Vincent competed in the Stan Nelson Memorial Invitational in Cedar Hill, they did not bring enough runners to qualify for team scores, but had individual boys and girls place high in the standings. 

St. Vincent’s senior Carter Henneman led the boys team, finishing 12th out of 122 runners with a final time of 17:05.42.

The girls team was led by a top-ten finish from junior Anna Welker, the Indians lone varsity girl’s time of 20:27.10 was good enough for 6th out of 83 runners.
