Perryville High School’s Treyton Barnett was selected as the Soccer Athlete of the Year at the 12th annual Semoball Awards on July 18 at La Croix Church in Cape Girardeau. Barnett, who will be a senior this year, also earned a number of other accolades during his junior season: KTJJ The Boot Dream Team, KTJJ The Boot Athlete of the Year, JCAA All-Conference first team, Conference Player of the Year, and All District first team, along with All Region and All State honors. The Pirates won their conference title this season, topping DeSoto to clinch the title, thanks to four goals from Barnett. This past spring, Barnett played for Lou Fusz Athletics out of St. Louis, on one of their top-tier Blue Star teams.
