Perryville to host first football Alumni Night

The Perryville football program is looking to welcome back former players into the fold. The program will host its first PHS Football Alumni Night on July 12 at the Robinson Construction Event Center from 7-10 p.m.
“This is essentially a fundraiser for us, but it’s also a way to bring the Pirate football family back together,” Perryville football coach Brent Roth said. “The whole concept here is to remember the past, celebrate the present and celebrate the future.”
The event is for football alumni with tickets being $35, and the alumni will be allowed to bring one guest with a purchase of the ticket.
The event will also have a silent auction, a 50-50 drawing, an open bar, and a mini-combine. Roth said the activities are still a work in progress, but there will be several competitions available for those in attendance.
“We want to get the competitive juices flowing again for some of the older alumni,” Roth said.

Roth said they have 250 maximum allotted tickets and Roth has sold approximately 100 tickets so far.
Roth said there will be a short presentation at the event for those who attend to see what the money will be used for. Roth said that it will be used to improve the program.
“The money will be used to buy equipment, such as pads, and other things,” Roth said. “We hope to be able to get a field decal this year and everything takes money nowadays.”
More than the fundraisier, Roth is excited to create a family like atmosphere between the current players and those who came before them.
“We want to pull alumni back in and make them feel like they are a part of the team,” he said. We want them to come back and watch us on Friday night in the fall and create an energy.”
