The Perryville Police Department has purchased six 2024 Dodge Durango Pursuits through state bid at a cost of approximately $40,000 per vehicle.

According to Police Chief Direk Hunt, the department regularly rotates its fleet of vehicles every five or six years.

“By then we’ve got so many miles on them that you to roll them out,” he said. “Sometimes we turn them over to public works or other departments within the city, or they go ahead and put them on Blue Wave. They sell them outright too.”

Dodge Durango Pursuits come with a standard 3.6L Pentastar® 24V VVT V6 Engine (AWD), instrument panel-mounted shifter, heavy-duty BR9 four-wheel disc brakes, eight-speed TorqueFlite® automatic transmission, police-specific front seats, Vehicle Systems Interface Module (VSIM), stealth mode, vinyl floor covering and HVAC cabin filter. A police package that includes a light bar and partition cage is added to each of the cars as well as Perryville Police Department markings added to the exterior.
