Perryville baseball garners All-Conference honors

Perryville baseball was well represented when it came to postseason awards.
Perryville had eight players be named to the JCAA Large School All-Conference team when the awards were recently announced.
That includes two who made the first team.
Troy O’Keefe was nominated for pitcher and infield for his performance on the diamond this year.
O’Keefe hit for a .417 average with six doubles and 17 RBI. All three categories were second on the team, He also stole seven bases.
All that could pale in comparison to his production on the mound where he was the ace of the Perryville staff. O’Keefe had a 1.12 earned run average and struck out 87 batters.
Grant Smith earned a spot on the first team as an outfielder. Smith was the best hitter for Perryville this season, as he led the team with a .436 average and seven doubles. He hit four homeruns, including three in one game this season with 25 RBI and 22 runs scored.
Waylon Huber earned a spot on the second team as a pitcher.

Huber pitched 28 innings and started five games for the Pirates. Huber had a 1.25 ERA and struck out 17 opposing batters.
Barrett Wheeler was the second team catcher in the JCAA as he hit .301. with seven RBI and seven runs scored.
Logan Hoehn was an honorable mention pitcher. He was second on the team in innings (34.1) with a 4.28 ERA with 49 strikeouts.
Adam Green and Dalton Fritsche earned honorable mention infield.
Green hit for a .310 average with five doubles and two triples, and 15 RBI.
Fritsche hit .300 with three doubles and six RBI on the year.
Eli Derickson was the final All-Conference honorable mention in the outfield for the Pirates.
He hit for a .291 average with four doubles and 12 RBI.
