Over the course of the holiday weekend, several pipes burst at Perry County Memorial Hospital causing the hospital to change some services due to flooding. PCHS CEO Chris Wibbenmeyer issued the following statement:
“During the bitter cold over the Christmas holiday, Perry County Health System (PCHS) suffered an unfortunate water pipe break that damaged a portion of our hospital and medical office building. As a result, our surgery department will be out of service until the area can be repaired, restored, and meticulously cleaned. All patients scheduled for surgery will be notified directly by PCHS. The water damage does not impact our emergency department or other lines of service.
