The National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal will be featured on the Catholic network, EWTN, on Monday, November 27 at 10:30 a.m., CT. The 30-minute episode, part of a series called “Hidden Gems: Catholic Shrines in America”, will feature the history of the Shrine Church, what visitors can experience, and interviews from people sharing what the Shrine means to them.
The television crew recorded this episode in early July 2023 and will help promote the Shrine to Catholic communities around the country. “EWTN has an enormous following of more than 400 million viewers. This region, Perryville, and the Shrine will be introduced to more visitors than ever before. It will be a great opportunity to showcase not only our historic church but also the great people of our community,” said Don Fulford, President and CEO of the Association of the Miraculous Medal.
This episode will have an encore airing at 10:30 p.m. You can watch it on the EWTN website or check your local TV providers listings.
CEO of the Association of the Miraculous Medal at the National Shrine of our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Don Fulford said that it is great that the campus is being featured.
“It affirms what our community already knows, and that is that this is a very special place,” Fulford said. “For EWTN, a national network to come knock on our door really emphasizes, the great community that this is, the people that work here, and the special place that it is.”

The documentary will most likely feature National Shrines from bigger cities, Perryville might be one of the smaller cities featured in the documentary.
“To have this place in Perry County featured in a huge Catholic Network come to us makes it special.,” Fulford said.
A few years ago, the Shrine was featured on a farming show, but this is the first time the campus will be on a faith based network. The program should air sometime this fall. The Eternal Word Television Network, more commonly known by its initials EWTN, is an American basic cable television network which presents around-the-clock Catholic-themed programming.
“We were part of a farming show because we were part of a farming community , but nothing like this,” Fulford said. “This is big.”
