Mildred C. Zahner

Mildred C. Zahner, 94, of Perryville, peacefully passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at her residence.
She was born June 30, 1929 in Perry County, MO to Edward and Thresa (Ernst) Berkbuegler.
Mildred and Oliver S. Zahner were married October 14, 1950 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Perryville. He preceded her in death on November 16, 2011.
She worked as a stretcher for the International Shoe Company in Perryville.
Mildred was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville and a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Sodality and a former member of the VFW Post #4282 Auxiliary.
Survivors include three sons and one daughter, Leslie P. (Tammy) Zahner of Perryville, MO, Russell (Yanfang) Zahner of Jackson, MO, Verna (Dale) Bohnert of Perryville, Troy (Bea) Zahner of Perryville, MO; sister, Gladys Renaud of Perryville; sister-in-law, Eleanor Hagan of Perryville; 10 grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oliver S. Zahner; son, Merlin Zahner; two brothers, George Berkbuegler, Melvin Berkbuegler; sister, Alma Mattingly.
Visitation was Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Highland.
Funeral Mass was Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Highland with Rev. Joe Geders C.M. officiating.
Burial was at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Highland.
Memorial contributions may be given to Crown Hospice.
