The people of Perry County and beyond can get in the Christmas spirit early this year. Although not for much longer.
The Lutheran Heritage Center in Altenburg is hosting the 18th annual Christmas Tree Exhibit once again this year.
The exhibit will be on display through January 15, 2023, or just a few more weeks. The display has the theme “It’s All About the Cross,” where each tree has a hidden cross somewhere in each tree.
“It’s a wonderful way to celebrate the birth of our Savior,” Lutheran Heritage Center and Museum Director Carla Grebing said. “We have a scavenger hunt for the crosses set up. It’s a great way for people from all over the country come and visit the museum and see our beautiful trees.”
There are 50 trees, each decorated differently, which took three days to assemble. Grebing enjoys the fact that the trees each have the same general theme.
“It’s a way to connect the trees to each other,” she said. “We started doing that a few years ago and it keeps everything consistent.”
