ARCADIA VALLEY — The Saxony Lutheran Lady Crusaders rolled a fifth-place finish in the girls’ division, and the Perryville Pirates finished eighth in the boys’ division of the annual Arcadia Valley Invitational at the Arcadia Valley Sports Complex in Arcadia Valley on Saturday.
The meet featured 47 varsity teams and 264 finishers split between the two divisions.
On the girls’ side, Festus claimed the top spot in the team standings with 41 points, followed by Notre Dame (55) and Springfield Central (96). Saxony Lutheran was fifth at 140, while Perryville finished 10th with 246.
Individually, Martina Ressel and Lily Coy of Notre Dame claimed the top spots, finishing with respective times of 18 minutes, 52.67 seconds, and 19:18.78. Victoria Li of Springfield Central was third in 20:05.80, and Festus’ Katelyn Thurman (20:28.73) and Kyndall Gildea (20:38.82) were fourth and fifth. Raylee Matthews finished 20th in 23:00.61 to lead the Lady Crusaders contingent, followed by Emmy Bengtson (22nd, 23:21.20), Adalyn Brandhorst (39th, 24:35.14), Eva Williamson (50th, 25:53.43), Briley Meyr (59th, 26:27.45), Allee McKee (73rd, 28:20.91), Gretchen Wolfe (80th, 29:11.04).
For Perryville, Lucy Blythe led the way, finishing 45th in (25:21.04), followed by Alexa Hagan (69th, 28:03.13), Anna Rehagen (72nd, 28:16.57), Katie Baggett (89th, 30:54.08), and Eloise Bollinger (94th, 32:17.69).
On the boys’ side, Notre Dame claimed the team title with 64 points, followed by Springfield (85) and Woodland (89). Perryville was eighth with 253, and Saxony Lutheran was 10th with 265.
Individually, Aidan Morris of Notre Dame finished first in 15:44.61, followed by Springfield Central’s Ronald Timm (15:59.91) and Notre Dame’s Jackson Jones (17:01.90). Farmington’s Axtin Brune (17:04.08) and Alexander Bequette (17:04.25) were fourth and fifth, respectively. For Perryville, Clayton Bauwens led the way, finishing 23rd in 18:10.45, followed by Micah Brown (48th, 19:23.95), Easton Blechle (63rd, 19:55.63), Marcas Smith (69th, 20:08.97), Rodney Rauh (81st, 20:38.35), and Brandon Roth (109th, 21:33.56).
For the Crusaders, Nicolas Chambless finished 28th in 18:31.87, followed by Evan Ward (43rd, 19:11.04), Jacob Schupp (53rd, 19:35.22), Simon May (87th, 20:50.61), Mark Richey (89th, 20:55.87), and Samuel Petzoldt (111th, 21:37.79).
