Saxony Lutheran outhit Perryville 11-3 on the way to a 17-0 victory at City Park in Perryville on Sept. 30. The Lady Crusaders (11-7) got on the board in the top of the first inning on RBI doubles from Ohna Boland and Natalie Brown, and a 2-run error. Another RBI double, this one from Ansley Palisch, extended Saxony’s lead to 5-0 in the top of the second. The Lady Crusaders added 4 runs each in the next three innings to seal the victory. Natalie Brown earned the win for Saxony Lutheran, giving up 3 hits in 5 innings, striking out 6 and walking 2. Lilly Cowell took the loss for Perryville after giving up 13 runs — 8 earned — on 10 hits while striking out 3 and walking 4 in 4 innings. Adisyn Vernon worked 1 inning in relief, giving up 4 unearned runs on 1 hit, striking out 2 and walking 2. First baseman Mabrie Barke finished 2-for-4 at the plate for the Lady Crusaders, with a triple and 5 RBI. Palisch, Boland, and Madilynn Hager each had 2 hits, while Jenna Unterreiner, Brown and Cori Faulkenberry had 1 hit each. Ava Robles finished 2-for-2 for Perryville, while Madeleine Gremaud was 1-for-2.
DESOTO 10, PERRYVILLE 0
DeSoto’s Lilly Travis pitched a scoreless no-hitter and the visiting Lady Dragons (13-5) racked up 10 runs on 10 hits to beat Perryville (2-12) 10-0 on Oct. 2 at City Park in Perryville.
Travis struck out 5 and walked none in 5 innings to earn the victory in the circle. Perryville’s Lilly Cowell took the loss, giving up 10 runs — 4 earned — on 10 hits, striking out 4 and walking 5.
DeSoto’s Lyla Stephens was 1-for-3 at the plate with 3 RBI and Cheyenne Kincade was 2-for-2.
FESTUS 10, PERRYVILLE 0
FESTUS — Festus starter Aubrey Doyle held Perryville to 3 hits, striking out 5 and walking none in 6 innings on the way to a 10-0 victory for the host Lady Dragons (13-5) over the Lady Pirates on Sept. 29.
Festus opened the scoring in the bottom of the first when Keeleigh Hankins hit a 2-run home run to center field, followed by an RBI single from Mia Metzger.
Keeleigh Hankins drove the middle of the lineup for Festus, finishing 3-for-4 with 3 RBI. Livi Kearns and Metzger had 2 hits each.
For Perryville, Olivia Difani, Lilly Cowell, and Ava Robles had 1 hit each. Starter Lilly Cowell took the loss for Perryville, giving up 10 runs — 5 earned — while striking out 4 and walking 5 in 5 innings.
NORTH COUNTY 1, SAXONY LUTHERAN 0
BONNE TERRE — With the score tied at 0-0 in the bottom of the sixth, North County sophomore Sophie Rackley hit a groundball single to first that allowed fellow sophomore Lillian Marshall to score, giving the Lady Raiders (7-9) a 1-0 victory over visiting Saxony Lutheran (11-6) on Oct. 3.
Madilynn Hager took the loss for Saxony Lutheran after giving up 1 run on 5 hits in 6 innings, while striking out 8 and walking 4. North County starter Emma Roper held the Lady Crusaders scoreless on 5 hits through 7 innings, striking out 6 and walking 2. Ansley Palisch and Jenna Unterreiner each had 2 hits for Saxony Lutheran.
SAXONY LUTHERAN 9, JEFFERSON 3
FESTUS — Visiting Saxony Lutheran took a 3-0 in the first inning against Jefferson on Oct. 1 after an RBI single from Ansley Palisch, an error and a fielder’s choice, and didn’t give up its momentum on the way to a victory over the Lady Bluejays.
In the second inning, Palisch grounded out, but Jenna Unterreiner was able to score on the play, to stretch the Lady Crusaders’ lead to 4-0. Unterreiner hit an RBI single in the third to give Saxony a 6-1 lead, and the Lady Crusaders added single runs in the fourth, fifth and seventh innings to secure the victory.
Mabrie Barke earned the win for Saxony Lutheran, giving up 2 runs on 2 hits in 4 1/3 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 3. Madilynn Hager worked 2 2/3 innings in relief, 1 run on 1 hit while striking out 4.
Palisch, Unterreiner, and Kinley Faulkenberry each had 2 hits for Saxony Lutheran, while Bridget Wilson, Palisch, Kessly Scholl, and Unterreiner each had 1 RBI.
SAXONY LUTHERAN 10, EAST CARTER 0
JACKSON — Madilynn Hager struck out 10 batters in a 5-inning one-hitter to help Saxony Lutheran roll past visiting East Carter 10-0 on Sept. 29. Ohna Boland was 3-for-3 at the plate 3 RBI and 2 runs scored.
Leading 5-0 after four innings, Saxony Lutheran scored 5 runs on 3 hits in the bottom of the fifth – including 3 on Boland’s bases-loaded single – to secure the victory.
Ansley Palisch finished 2-for-4 with 1 RBI and 1 run scored, while Unterreiner, Kessly Scholl, and Natalie Brown each had 1 hit.
