Events canceled, postponed because of COVID-19

A list of local school, community, club and church events that have been canceled or rescheduled because of the rising concerns over the new coronavirus:

  • The weekly Tuesday morning Veterans Coffee at Missouri's National Veterans Memorial in Perryville has been canceled until further notice.
  • Perry County School District and St. Vincent de Paul schools in Perryville will be closed beginning March 18.
  • The Perryville Garden Club Meeting scheduled for March 18 has been canceled.
  • New Life Mission Inn in Perryville has canceled all mutual support group meetings for the week of March 16-20.
  • The meeting of the Perry County Coalition of Democrats and Progressives scheduled for Thursday, March 19, has been canceled.
  • The Rotary Club of Perryville's Rock and Roll Bingo event scheduled for March 20 has been postponed.
  • The Zell Volunteer Fire Department Shooting Matches scheduled for March 20 and March 27 have been cancelled The match scheduled for March 13 will still be held.
  • The Sedgewickville United Methodist Church Chicken & Dumpling Dinner scheduled for Saturday, March 21, has been canceled.
  • The Missouri Department of Conservation's Hunter Education Skills session scheduled for March 20 at the Perryville Elks Lodge has been canceled. In addition, MDC has cancelled most public events and programs at its nature centers, shooting ranges, and other locations around the state until April 15.
  • The Ties & Tiaras Father-Daughter Dance scheduled for Saturday, March 21, at the Perry Park Center has been postponed until Sept. 12.
  • The St. Vincent de Paul Ladies Sodality Chicken & Dumpling Dinner scheduled for Sunday, March 22, at the Knight of Columbus hall in Perryville has been canceled.
  • The St. Joseph’s Men’s Club Breakfast & Bake Sale scheduled for Sunday, March 22, at St. Joseph Church in Apple Creek has been canceled.
  • The Gettin' Sauced BBQ competition scheduled for March 28 in Perryville has been postponed.
  • The Heroes for Kids Bowling for Autism event scheduled for March 28 has been postponed. A new date will be announced at a later date.
  • The Taste of Ste. Genevieve scheduled for April 4 has been postponed until Aug. 22.
  • The Perryville Optimist Soccer League has postponed the remainder of the season, effective immediately. The board of directors will revisit the matter on April 1.
  • The Perry County Military History Museum and the World War I traveling exhibit will be closed until April 1.
  • The St. Vincent, Knights of Columbus and Imanuel Lutheran fish frys have all been canceled.
  • Missouri's National Veterans Memorial announced Monday that "An Evening Honoring Military Veterans with Jackie and Friends" scheduled for April 3 has been postponed. Plans to reschedule are underway, and ticket buyers should retain their current tickets – they will be honored for the new date.   • The Perryville Downtown Revitalization Committee has canceled the Cruise-In scheduled for April 4 on the downtown square in Perryville.
  • The Perryville Lions Club has postponed its 67th Annual Perryville Lions Club Pancake Breakfast scheduled for April 5.
  • The Association of the Miraculous Medal has canceled the Easter mass at the Grotto scheduled for April 12.
  • All St. Vincent de Paul Society activities in Perryville are suspended until April 6. This includes the Thrift Store and Distribution Center. No drop offs will be accepted at the Thrift Store and the April 6 meeting is cancelled. Those in need of assistance should call 573-547-1797.
  • Citizens Electric Corporation has canceled Children’s Safety Days in April.
  • All face-to-face University of Missouri Extension programming has been suspended through May 15. This includes all 4-H club and project meetings, programs, and events. Cancelled events in Perry County include: Grain Marketing Workshop, Seed and Plant Swap, Woodland Steward: Management and Mushrooms, Extension Council Meetings, all 4-H Club meetings and activities.
  • Because of the closure of all Riverside Regional Libraries, the exhibit "World War I: Lessons and Legacies" at the Altenburg Branch will be extended to April 30. The program with Dr. Frank Nickell scheduled for March 29 has been cancelled and we're are hoping to reschedule it for sometime in April.
  • Perryville's annual Easter Egg hunt hosted by RE/MAX Realty scheduled for April 11 has been postponed. A new date has not yet been set.
