Chamber update: Doing our best to serve at this time

Posted
I hope this finds our Perry County community safe and healthy. Although the Chamber of Commerce is closed to walk ins, we are doing our best to serve our Chamber member businesses. Please see our Facebook pages- Perryville Chamber of Commerce, Perryville Mayfest and Xquisite Women’s Leadership Conference pages. The Chamber is also on Instagram. We are adjusting to our event cancellations and postponements. Our upcoming Coffee and Connections for April is cancelled. Some things will be able to be rescheduled others will be cancelled. Mayfest has been rescheduled for July 10 & 11. We hope we will be able to get out and celebrate our “Hometown Heroes” by then. Luckily our bands and Food Vendors were able to accommodate the new dates and we are grateful for that. Our April Leadership Perryville was postponed. We are hopeful that those who are signed up for this awesome experience will be able to accommodate some new dates. The Board and I hope everyone will continue to support our local businesses as best they can while still following the State Stay at Home regulations. Remember you can still call these businesses and ask to purchase gift cards to be used later. You can also go to their Facebook and Instagram pages and check on their hours and services. We appreciate all you can do to help support the community during this time. Please don’t forget about those who are in need of things from the Food Pantries. Donate to them to help feed the hungry of Perry County. There are so many changes daily in what is happening to our economy due to COVID-19. The Chamber is working together with the EDA to provide its members and the community with resources during this time. The Perry County Economic Development Authority website www.perrycountymo.org has links to current resources, including COVID-19 Healthcare Resources, SBA Paycheck Protection Program, SBA Disaster Loan Program and Missouri Unemployment Resources. I know that our businesses get many e-mails every day. The Chamber will continue with our Tuesday e-news and our Thursday Member to Member. Our Tuesday e-news is free to our Chamber members, please submit your information by Friday for your information to be in included in the following Tuesday’s edition. Thank you to all of our faithful Chamber members and all of our Sponsors. You are appreciated. Jackie Wengert is the executive director of the Perryville Chamber of Commerce.
