Craig D. Brewer has announced his candidacy for Perry County Associate Circuit Judge.  Brewer, 42, is seeking the position to be vacated by the retiring Judge Michael J. Bullerdieck.

Brewer is running as an Independent for the position and will be placed on the ballot during the General Election to be held on November 4, 2014.

Brewer, a lifelong resident of Perry County, has practiced as an attorney for 16 years and has focused his practice in the areas of criminal defense, family law, probate law, estate planning, juvenile law, real estate law and bankruptcy.

Brewer practiced with his father, Dennis C. Brewer, as The Brewer Law Firm, P.C. until 2013 when Dennis retired.  Brewer now partners with attorney Ronald Arbeiter as Arbeiter & Brewer.

Brewer believes he is qualified for the position and is ready to handle the duties of the Associate Circuit Judge.

“I have considerable experience in every area of the law that the Associate Circuit Judge handles,” said Brewer.  “I understand what is expected of the Judge and I feel I am well tempered and prepared for the responsibility.  This job is not a stepping stone for me as I truly want to make it my life’s work,” he said.

“The people of Perry County can expect that I will run a court system that is fair, efficient and respectful of its citizens.”

Brewer and his wife, Lauren, have three children. He is active in St. Vincent De Paul Parish in Perryville and currently serves as the President of the St. Vincent Alumni Association.  He is also involved with numerous civic organizations, including the Perry County Economic Development Authority and the Perryville Development Corporation.
