Barbara Marie (Fink) Buerck, 74, of Perryville, formerly of Ellis Grove, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Mercy Southeast Hospital, Cape Girardeau.
She was born to the late John Junior and Mildred (nee Bleem) Fink on May 3, 1950 in Chester.
Barbara married Michael Buerck on October 24, 2015 at St. Mary’s Church of Divine Maternity in Ellis Grove; he survives.
After graduating high school in 1968, Barbara worked as a secretary for Spartan Printing until 1993. She then worked in the administrative offices at Menard Correctional Center in Chester until retirement. Barbara was a member of St. Mary’s Church of Divine Maternity in Ellis Grove, and was attending St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in Kaskaskia. She enjoyed watching old movies and loved to dance. Barbara and her husband Michael taught dance classes at Perryville and Southeast Missouri State University until 2016.
Survivors include husband Michael Buerck, Perryville. three step children: Heather (Keith) Perreault,Cape Girardeau; Katie (Sam) McGinty, Cape Girardeau; Cory (Amber) Buerck, St. Louis; step daughter-in-law: Stacy Buerck, Perryville;11 step grandchildren; 4 step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and step son Matthew Louis Buerck.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester and on Friday, September 13 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Church of Divine Maternity, Ellis Grove.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, September 13, 2024 at St. Mary’s Church of Divine Maternity, Ellis Grove with Father Sebastian Ukoh officiating. Inurnment will be at Ellis Grove City Cemetery in Ellis Grove.
Memorials preferred to St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, Kaskaskia.
