Perryville senior setter Allyson Burns recorded 14 assists in the Lady Pirates’ 3-0 (25-14, 29-27, 25-8) loss to Windsor on Sept. 16, putting her over the mark for 1,000 career assists. “Allyson has been the heart of our offense and a leader on the court for four years,” said coach Liz Meyr, “guiding her teammates and making big plays look effortless. Her dedication, consistency, and passion for the game have left a lasting impact on Pirate Volleyball.” For the season, Burns — one of two setters for the Lady Pirates — has 409 assists through 24 matches, an average of 17 per match. For her career, Burns has 1,203 assists through Oct. 4. The Lady Pirates (8-14-2) faced Valle Catholic on Monday night and are scheduled to play Northwest on Saturday.
