Saxony Lutheran High School has announced that Darrin Scott has accepted the men’s basketball coach position, starting immediately.

“We are excited to welcome Coach Scott to the Saxony family,” said Principal Mark Ruark. “He brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge. Coach Scott will be a great addition to our program, and his character and faith-filled values will be a good fit for our athletes and the Saxony family.”

Scott is currently serving as the area director for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes
(FCA) program. Before coming to Saxony, he was the basketball coach for Jackson High School, Notre Dame Regional High School, and Greenville High School.

When asked what he is looking forward to in coming to Saxony, Scott said, “I am most looking forward to coaching in a Christian environment and, with several goals in mind, to have a chance to coach these kids and be a part of Saxony. There will be new relationships and meeting new people is very exciting.”

The Saxony men’s basketball team will take the court for the first time under the direction of the new coach on Nov. 22, 2024, at West County. Saxony’s first home basketball game is scheduled for Dec. 10, with tipoff at 5 p.m.

Saxony Lutheran High School has nearly 240 students and is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

Anyone interested in touring the campus is asked to contact the school office at 573-204-7555. Saxony will be hosting Mini Crusader Days beginning next month. Spots can be reserved by visiting the website or Saxony’s Facebook page.
