Perryville High School

PHS Soccer
The Perryville Pirates’ varsity soccer team won its Sept. 3 home non-conference game against Notre Dame of Cape Girardeau by a score of 1-0.

PHS Volleyball
The Perryville High School girls’ volleyball team played Oak Ridge on Sept. 3 and won 3-0. The scores were 25-20, 25-21, and 25-23. Allyson Burns led in assists with 12. Ellie Gerler led in kills with 7, and Paige Berkbigler with 6. Jewel Riney had 17 digs.

On Sept. 4, the Lady Pirates beat Bell City in three. The scores were 25-17, 25-17 and 25-15. Stat leaders were Paige Berkbigler with 12 assists, 5 kills and 12 digs; Emma Blechle with 8 aces; Charlie Gerler with 7 kills; and Ellie Gerler with 6 kills and two blocks. Maria Mattingly had 2 blocks, and Jewel Riney had 12 digs.

At the Woodland Tournament held Sept. 6, the Lady Pirates suffered their first season loss against Cape Central in 3. The scores were 18-25, 18-25, and 24-26. Stat leaders were Paige Berkbigler with 13 assists, 10 digs and 3 aces; Jewel Riney with 10 digs; Ellie Gerler 6 kills; Lydia Schlimpert with 5 kills; and Charli Gerler with 2 blocks.

The Lady Pirates then defeated Woodland in the championship game in 4 sets: 21-25, 25-21, 25-18 and 25-21. The stat leaders were Paige Berkbigler with 22 assists, 2 blocks and 11 digs; Allyson Burns with 18 assists; Ellie Gerler with 10 kills and 5 blocks; Charli Gerler with 9 kills, 19 digs and 3 aces; Emma Blechle with 6 kills, 3 blocks, 14 digs and 4 aces; and Jewel Riney with 20 digs.

On Sept. 9, the Lady Pirates had a clean sweep of Herculaneum: Freshman 25-10, 25-12; JV 25-11, 25-6 and Varsity 25-15, 25-8, 25-19. The stat leaders were Allyson Burn with 13 assists and 4 aces; Paige Berkbigler with 12 assists and 2 blocks; Ellie Gerler with 10 kills and 1 block; Jewel Riney with 13 digs, and Charli Gerler with 7 kills, 1 block, 2 aces, and 8 digs

St. Vincent

SV Volleyball
The St Vincent girls’ volleyball team played in a 12-team tournament at Visitation Academy on Saturday, Aug. 31 in St. Louis. The team split pool play matches with Westminster and Parkway Central and then beat Francis Howell North 2-0. In the playoffs of the Silver Division Playoff the team defeated Webster Groves 2 games to 1 and then beat Parkway Central 2-1, to win the Silver Dvision.

Saxony

JV Football
The Saxony Lutheran Junior Varsity Football team defeated Doniphan Dons on Sept. 3, with a score of 40-38. And in their Sept. 9 game, the Saxony JV football team won 34-16 against Potosi.
